101st Annual Grand Convocation

Grand Convocation Activities

Pursuant to Article VII, Section III of the Constitution, the 101th Annual Grand Session of this Most Royal Prince Hall Grand Court, Order of Cyrene, will convene on Friday, October 25 and Saturday, October 26, 2019 at the Best Western Hotel, 200 Wolf Road Albany, New York 12203-3326.  Room rates are $75 plus tax per night for a double/double, queen or king if reserved before October 5th.  Phone: (518) 458-1000.

ATTIRE: All members are to wear Long White Dresses, Skirts with Jackets, Suits or Long Sleeve Blouse, white hose, white accessories, gloves, turban, baldric or collar.  All Sir Engineers, appropriate attire or black suit with a white shirt and gloves.

DEVOTIONAL SERVICE: will commence at 8:00 am Friday, October 25^th and Saturday, October 26^th under the direction of the District Deputy Grand Lecturer Carrie Burnell (13) and Grand Altaress HPRGC Halestine Phillips (12).  All Royal Ladies and Sir Engineers are invited to attend.  Please be present and on time each day

DEDICATION of the MEETING ROOM: will commence shortly after the devotional service with the District Deputy Grand Lecturer and her team.

OPENING OF THE GRAND COURT: RRDGC RL Ethel Cochran and the Grand Court Officers will open the Grand Court with the assistance of all District Deputies Grand Commandress’ and District Deputy Grand Lecturers to fill in where needed.

The Most Royal Grand Commandress Angella Y. Clarke and Most Royal Grand Chief Engineer Russell E. Duckett will be received at 9:30am and will open the 100th Grand Convocation.

Past Most Royal Grand Commandress’s, Past Most Royal Grand Chief Engineers’s, Honorary Past Royal Grand Commandress and Honorary Past Royal Grand Chief Engineers will be officially received at 10:00 am.

CONVOCATION: Our Convocation Chairperson Royal Lady Yvonne Harmon and Past Royal Commandress Cheryl Stanford have given out information to all courts pertaining to the Convocation.  Remember, when making your reservations for your hotel stay, to use our code MRGC, one nights’ deposit is required.  Cancellations of hotel reservation should be made 2 days prior to your arrival.  Additional hotel information is to be obtained from the hotel.

REGISTRATION: Royal Grand Magdalene RL Brenda Simons Chairperson and PRC Shirley Cheesboro Co-Chairperson will remind the Royal Commandress’ to ensure that those attending the session should be registered prior to the deadline date of October 18, 2019.  The cost of registration prior to October 18^th is $130.00 dollars.  Late and onsite registration is $135.00 dollars.

MEMORIAL SERVICE: There will be a Joint Memorial Service along with the Grand Commandery to be held on Saturday, October 26th, 2019 at 11:00 AM.  We are requesting all subordinate courts to send the name of their deceased members along with the date of their demise to; Honorary Past Royal Grand Commandress Halestine Phillips (12) Royal Grand Altaress, 18 Cooper Drive, Nanuet, New York 10954.  A copy is also to be sent to the Royal Grand Secretary Maxine Colden at 108-05 Astoria Blvd #3F E. Elmhurst NY  11369.  The Grand Court Officers and the team performing this service will wear Black with proper accessories.
